Product Description 4th edition of this book since 1993. The first to be published outside Australia. Detailing the principles, techniques and systems for sustainable development of rural and urban landscapes. Keyline methods enable the rapid development of deep biologically fertile soil by converting subsoil into living topsoil. Keyline pattern cultivation enables the rapid flood irrigation of undulating land without terracing. Incidental results are the healing of soil erosion, bio-adsorption of salinity and the long term storage of atmospheric carbon in the soil as humus. The Keyline Scale of Permanence provides a priority guide to planning the various factors of broad scale development. This is a recommended text for Permaculture students. It includes updated selections and information; from P.A. Yeomans's books:- The Keyline Plan (1954); The Challenge of Landscape (1958); (Water for Every Farm (1964 and 2nd edition 1968) and The City Forest (1971). www.keyline.com.au

Superseeded by http://www.amazon.com/dp/1438225784/ January 9, 2009 Mr. Kenneth Yeomans (Australia) The new book on Keyline, "Water for Every Farm - Yeomans Keyline Plan", became available through Amazon in mid 2008 and can be ordered through the following link. [...]
My name is Ken Yeomans and my late father P.A. Yeomans (1905-81) wrote this book, "Water for Every Farm" in 1964. He wrote several other books on the subject of Keyline and sustainable agriculture.
I grew up with Keyline and later as a young man my father taught me the art of landscape assessment using in Keyline principles.
"Water for Every Farm" by P.A. Yeomans was originally written to explain the application of Keyline irrigation methods to flatter lands.
My father's other books included earlier components of Keyline, like the Scale of Permanence and later components like the "City Forest", a proposal for purifying sewerage effluent in the deepened soil of an irrigated rain forests, as detailed in an out-of-print paperback called "The City Forest". All this information was in danger of being lost to posterity.
Consequently I edited and published a new title called "Water for Every Farm - Yeomans Keyline Plan", which combined all the available material into one text. I also added sections from my own experience as a Keyline Consultant.

Water for Every Farm April 3, 2009 David (Talking Rock, GA USA) Excellent time tested material on developing fertile land and using water carefully. Mr. PA Yoemans spent a lifetime developing the recommendations in this book and his son provides a very beneficial update to the original work with updated examples of the recommendations as implemented. Tremendous resource of information and very well written.
BUY AN EARLIER EDITION!! November 22, 2009 Christopher Morris (San Antonio, Tx) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The editor of this book butchered it so atrociously, it would flunk as a high school English assignment. While the information may be useful, extracting a complete idea from the sentence fragments, hopelessly vague grammar, and editor's irrelevant digressions and contentions requires extra labor. This edition is as much about P.A. Yeoman's personal beliefs and business as it is keyline planning. See an earlier edition for all the information and none of the fluff.
